gpstudio were invited to China to design a concept for the stations on a new metro system.

Taking our inspiration from “Abstract expressionism” our concept “Engineered Fluidity” took engineered form and sculpted the architecture to follow the natural landscape. Drawing on the juxtaposition of three elements Architecture, Texture and Light, we created a concept that was not simply a bridge between two destinations but a place of embarking-discovery-a journey-arrival-a space for social interaction.
