‘Permission` is a large-scale installation of 72 traffic lights. The artwork explores the idea of constantly waiting for permission in life to ‘go, stop, wait for the right time, wait for other people, wait your turn.’ Kate explained that she created such a large installation “because it was very important to feel confronted by the piece, like walking into a brick wall, to make one aware of how often we allow our external environment to influence us from achieving what we could. “
Kate exhibited her collection at 100% Design 2017 as part of her interior design company KC Design, showcasing a collection of wallpapers and fabrics.
